England follow-on after Ojha?s five-for ? Cricket News Roundup ? Part 2 ? November 17, 2012

Pragyan Ojha completed a five-wicket haul as England were routed on a lowly 191 in their first innings during the third day of the opening Test at Ahmedabad.

Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin bowled superbly on a spin friendly strip to share eight wickets between them, further allowing Mahendra Singh Dhoni to enforce a follow on.

The first session saw the tourists collect 69 runs at the expense of Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Alastair Cook and Samit Patel. Matt Prior, along with Tim Bresnan and Stuart Broad, offered resistance by adding 94 but that remained a mere consolation. The Men in Blue had scored 521 in their first innings.

A maiden five-for for Tino Best helped West Indies complete an impressive 77-run victory on the final day of the first Test against Bangladesh.

The tourists? added just 29 runs to their overnight score of 244 as Sohag Gazi rounded off an impressive debut by claiming a six-wicket haul, and further put his side in pole position in the match.

However, things hardly went Bangladesh?s way in the second outing with no one crossing the 30-run mark. Following the early dismissal of the dangerous Tamim Iqbal, the hosts struggled to cope with Tino Best and Veerasammy Permaul, both of whom shared 8 scalps, and were bundled out on 167.

Sri Lanka remained in pole position following the conclusion of the first two sessions against New Zealand at Galle, restricting the tourists to 155 for 6.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first in the opening Test, the Kiwis started brightly before losing three quick wickets. Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson fell to Shaminda Eranga, while Nuwan Kulasekara cleaned up skipper Ross Taylor.

Brendon McCullum (68) and Daniel Flynn (53) offered considerable resistance with a 90-run stand but fell flat against the spin of Rangana Herath. The left-armer clean bowled the former before taking out Flynn. James Franklin was the sixth wicket to fall as the Kiwis slumped to 155.

The Lankans handed debut to Dimuth Karunaratne after Tillakaratne Dilshan failed to recover from a back complaint. New Zealand left out veteran seamer Chris Martin, with Tim Southee Trent Boult and Doug Bracewell getting the nod.
